Taiwan's Formosa to shut EDC and VCM plants for maintenance

Market sources reported that Formosa Plastics corporation (FPC) is planning to shut its ethylene dichloride (EDC) and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) plant by mid of June 2018 for a scheduled turnaround.

Located at Mailiao, Taiwan, the EDC plant has a production capacity of 1.65 million tons/year and VCM plant has a production capacity of 800,000 tons/year. Both plants are expected to remain off-stream for a month.
