The Chinese PET bottle export market showed preliminary signs of stabilisation this week, snapping a severe nine-week bearish streak on the back of a synchronised recovery across the upstream energy and polyester futures complex.
Market participants said the aggressive pricing reflected expectations of further downside as regional supply continues to improve, supported by the gradual return of Middle Eastern cargoes and the resumption of production at Malaysia's PrefChem.
