Local producer cuts PP offers in Indonesia, increase PE prices
A major local producer in Indonesia reportedly cut local spot PP prices on the first trading day of the week in a response to the weakening import ground due to lacking purchasing interest. However, the producer continues to lift PE offers, especially metallocene PE (mPE) that drastically jumped.

Players said that the reductions in the PP market are long overdue and additional cuts might follow in the near term. Apparently, customers remain very calm after the new price announcement while portraying very limited interest in proceeding with new buys.
“The official price list is still too expensive. We are waiting for Chinese suppliers to open new import offers, which might be more competitive than local prices,” a buyer added.
