Indonesian producer slashes local PE prices, maintaining PP unchanged
A major Indonesian producer has opened weekly PP and PE offers to the domestic market with a rather large reduction on HDPE cargoes, while keeping PP unchanged from the previous week.

Sources said the previous price hike on PE cargoes was rather an overshoot and that demand is too weak to support. The reduction reflected the lack of purchasing interest, not only in Indonesia but also in other markets, especially in China.
“Customers are very reluctant. We were hoping that demand for local materials would be stronger now that there is still no news on the BMDTP issuance,” a trader added.
