Local Indonesian producer maintains spot PP and PE offers stable to firm
A major local producer in Indonesia has opened fresh weekly PP and PE on the first trading day of the week with additional increases on most PE parcels while maintaining PP unchanged.

The increases reflect the development in the import ground in the recent trading days. However, it is reported that sentiment in the local market is tracking a stable to soft trend. Manufacturers are resisting the new prices citing the lack of end product orders.
In the previous week, a couple of converters reported facing end-product order cancelation after lifting selling prices by 5% to cover the raw material costs. A number of converters decided to postpone purchases until end-product buyers show acceptance toward the hike in costs.
