Domestic producer continues lifting PP and PE offers in Indonesia

After a brief reduction in the previous week, a major local producer in Indonesia has revived the uptrend for both PP and PE on the first trading day of the week with support from the international market.

Sources said that the fresh increases partially due to the fact that buyers returned to make replenishment, especially for PE cargoes, in the previous week following the discounts given. “The sudden hike in ethylene costs has also elevated the sentiment. We are monitoring the response from customers,” a trader said.
Meanwhile, buyers are becoming more reluctant to accept the latest hike in PP offers, which could indicate another week of sluggish sentiment in Indonesia.
