In an official statement to its customers, LG Chem informed that it is forced to delay all PVC shipments that are scheduled for November loading after the company faced issues at the Yeosu plant.

As reported earlier, LG Chem shutdown the 1.16 million tons/year naphtha cracker in Yeosu, South Korea on 5 November 2020 after a fire hit the control room. As a result, the company slashed the operating rates at the 610,000 tons/year PVC by 30-40% due to lacking ethylene feeds.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and shall do our utmost to resume deliveries as soon as the issues are resolved,” the letter said.
