Indonesian producer continues to soften stance on local PP, PE offers
A major local producer in Indonesia continues to reduce spot offers for PP and PE in the local market amid the persistently sluggish demand condition. The latest price reduction is rather minor; however, it ensures the competitiveness of local materials against the import cargoes.

There have been reports that more manufacturers in other cities than Jakarta might be facing production disruption as a result of potential COVID-19 related lockdown. At the moment, players in the flexible packaging sector are seeing lower end product demand due to the Ramadan season.
“Local suppliers have been firmer in negotiation, however, it might be difficult to maintain such stance when purchasing interest is not strong,” a buyer added.
