Local Indonesia PP and PE market continue to slide on weak demand

The domestic PP and PE market in Indonesia continue to roll lower on the first trading day of the week partially due to the strengthening Indonesian Rupiah against the US dollar and also the sluggish demand condition in this market.
The producer’s latest price list and changes compared to last week are shown in the following table:

It is important to note that the producer has started to offer metallocene PE (mPE) grade in the local market following the expansion at the downstream units in 2019.
The steep reduction on HDPE and LLDPE film cargoes continues to make local materials more competitive than imports and coupled with the exchange rates, buyers might prefer to source cargoes from the local ground.
