CommoPlast | Article - Local PP and PE offers in Indonesia extended the weakening trend

On the first trading day of the week, Indonesian players reported having received fresh PP and PE offers from a major local producer with reductions, marking three consecutive weeks of the price cuts.

Apparently, Indonesian buyers are still able to obtain cargoes in the distribution market at well below the official price list. In fact, deals for LLDPE film have reached IDR 12,300,000/ton ($878/ton) for large quantities in the distribution ground.

“Customers are negotiating very aggressively. It seems that the market might find it difficult to regain strength anytime soon,” a local trader reported.
