A major producer in Indonesia has reportedly announced fresh weekly PP and PE offers to local buyers with additional reduction on the back of strengthening Rupiah against the US dollar and sluggish demand condition.

Indonesian players reported that local demand has been weakening and the prospect of continued increasing domestic supply in the near term has encouraged buyers to adopt a wait and see stance.

In the meantime, offers in the distribution market remain below the producer’s official price list, making it very difficult for import cargoes to penetrate, especially at the time when most manufacturers have nearly completed the BMDTP quota.
