Another Saudi maker announced October PP, PE shipment offers to SEA

Another major Saudi Arabia producer has announced October shipment offers for both PP and PE to Southeast Asia market, mostly at the stable to slightly higher compared to last month’s price list. However, it is important to note that the latest price list, especially HDPE and LLDPE film, has surged significantly from the last done-deal.

The latest price list and changes from the previous announcement are shown in the following table.  

It was initially understood that supply was regular compared to last month despite the recent feedstock disruption at the plant. However, the producer later cut the allocation, specifically for LLDPE film, visibly citing an unexpected error at the plant. 

“The quantity is very small, hence we do not have a lot of room for price negotiation. Customers are a bit reluctant, however, given the supply situation, we think buyers would accept the latest offer,” a distributor commented.
