It is reported that two ethylene-based PVC producers in Tianjin, China have cut operation rates by 30 percent since 23 September 2019 following orders from the government to control the air quality in the area ahead of the 70th National Day celebration. These plants would be able to resume normal rate earliest by 3 October.
The first producer namely Tianjin Dagu Chemical Co Ltd has an annual capacity of 800,000 tons/year.
The second producer - Tianjin LG Bohai Chemical Co Ltd has an annual capacity of 400,000 tons/year. The company previously operated under the name Tianjin LG Dagu Chemical Co Ltd.
Lowering operating at these two plants trimmed nearly 10,000 tons of supply from the market, from which Chinese players believed that domestic ethylene-based PVC market could hold firm in the post-holiday term.
