Taiwanese producer unexpectedly opens October PVC offers at stable to softer levels

It is reported that a major Taiwanese producer has announced fresh PVC offers to Asian market for October shipment. The latest prices see a rollover from September to India at $900/ton while Southeast Asia and China received a $20/ton reduction to $860/ton, all based on CFR/CIF term. 

The price decision is rather out of the market’s expectation as players initially called for a $10-20/ton increased considering the tighter supply condition stemming from the recent shutdown at Thailand’s TPC and Taiwan’s Formosa. 

On a special note, Vietnamese buyers received offers from the producer at $840/ton CIF, LC AS term, lower than other markets in the region.

“Other suppliers might follow the latest price trend and we are waiting at the moment,” a regional buyer said.
