Thai maker lifted PE offers to China, sold off LLDPE film at new level

It is reported that a major Thailand producer has announced new PE offers to China with $10/ton hike from last week, shrugging off the recent plunge in the upstream ethylene costs.

The latest prices stand at $1190/ton for HDPE film, $1110/ton for LLDPE film and at $1080/ton for LDPE film, all based on CFR China, LC AS term.

The producers reportedly sold out more than 5000 tons of LLDPE film cargoes at the latest price given healthy demand for this grade while still struggle to attract buying interest for HDPE film.

“We purchased some LLDPE film quantity because of the competitiveness. Most Middle Eastern suppliers are very firm on the prices. The demand from the agricultural sector is there and this might support the current firming trend,” a buyer said.
