It is reported that another Saudi Arabia producer has announced February shipment offers for PP and PE to Vietnam with $20-40/ton hike month on month.

The market is overwhelming with the latest price decision, considering the sluggish sentiment that has been persisted in the Vietnam market regardless of the recent movement in China and Indonesia.
“Even Thailand cargoes are more competitive. The producer might need to concede to a large discount to conclude deals,” a buyer commented.
The producer has restarted the trouble PP line after an extended shutdown since October 2018 due to a major mechanical issue. “The plant is running smoothly at the moment, but we need to clear some backlogs. We expect the market to brighten in the post-holiday period, hence might hold firm on the prices,” a distributor said. The source added that the initial response from the market is not very positive.
