Southeast Asian makers stepped back on PVC offers

Major players in Malaysia reportedly received softer offers from both Thailand and Indonesian makers for PVC this week, whereby prices are $10/ton lower than last week, reaching $890/ton and $880/ton respectively, both on a CIF Malaysia, LC AS term.

A buyer commented, “We are seeing weaker demand ahead of Lunar New Year holiday, whereby our Indonesian supplier initially claimed to have limited supply availability, however still cutting down their offers after facing difficulties on deals conclusion.”

With approaching holiday for Lunar New Year, buyers in Malaysia are expecting for a slower market sentiment in the near term.
