China to down-adjust import duties for petchem products: Part II
The Chinese government has announced the second list of products that would enjoy reductions in import duties starting 1 January 2019. The second list included thousands of products including hundreds under the plastic article (HS code 39) from trading partners Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Costa Rica, Iceland, Switzerland, Georgia, Hong Kong, Macao, South Korea, and Asia Pacific countries.
Under the plastic article, the Chinese government zero-rated import duties for cargoes originated from Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Costa Rica, Iceland, Hong Kong, and Macao. Meanwhile, the other country on the list might see 0.5-6.5% reductions depending on the product.
The detailed rates are shown in the following table:
It is important to note that there are cells in the table that intentionally left empty as per official document in Chinese, which assumedly means that the product listed see no changes in the import duties.
