Japan’s Shin-etsu to complete ethane cracker in US soon

According to market sources, Shin-etsu Chemical is in the progress of completion for its ethane cracker construction in United States by end of the year.

Based in Plaquemine, Louisiana, the ethane cracker has a production capacity of 500,000 tons/year. A source closed to the company informed that trial production will be started right after the construction completion by end of December. The project cost about $1.4 billion.
