Thailand producer announces new PE offers to China, market resistance is visible

It is reported that a major Thailand producer has announced fresh weekly PE offers to China mostly at the stable to softer levels, except for $10/ton increased in metallocene cargoes. 

The producer’s price list is shown in the following table:

Buyers are showing a strong reluctance stance toward the latest price list while comparing HDPE to the more competitive Taiwanese materials. “A $10/ton reduction in HDPE is not enough compared to the significant drop in ethylene costs. Taiwanese materials are $40/ton lower and we might opt for the more competitive source,” a buyer said, adding that end product demand is stable.
