Malaysia's Lotte Chemical Titan mulls over maintenance at PP line

It is reported that Lotte Chemical Titan might take its old PP line off-stream for a month from mid-December for a routine maintenance work. The plant consists of two lines with a combined capacity of 440,000 tons would only restart by mid-January 2019.

A source close to the producer said its export allocation for PP is rather tight at the moment, as the company needs to build up some inventories prior to the shutdown.

“At the meantime, we also attempt to leverage on the healthy demand condition in China by directing some quantity to this market,” the source added.

Lotte Titan Chemical’s new 200,000 tons/year PP line that came online during mid-July has achieved stable production rate.
