India lifted tariffs on non-essential imports

The Indian government on 26 September 2018 announced the increase in import duties for 19 non-essential items in an attempt to ease pressure on the local currency.

These items include gemstones, jet fuel, plastics end products, home appliances and shoes with the rate hike by as much as 10 percent that take effect immediately. The list of affected products are shown in the following table:
