Shanghai Secco and FREP to have major maintenance shutdown in Q4

Two major producers in China has issued official statements to customers in the country, urging buyers including traders and manufacturers to prepare sufficient inventories for the coming months, as the suppliers will not be able to provide any cargoes during the major maintenance shutdown.

The details for turnaround schedule are as following:

“Both the makers will shut down warehouses for maintenance, too. Therefore, there will be minimal inventories available,” a distributor informed. 

The shutdown might impact local availability to a certain extent, however, market prefers to wait for clearer market direction in the post-holiday term before taking position given that aggressive pre-holiday replenishment has taken place these two weeks.
