A major Southeast Asian producer reportedly cut import offers for metallocene PE (mPE) to China by $20/ton from last week to $1290-1300/ton CFR, LC AS on the back of disappointing demand condition.

The producer is currently having routine maintenance work at the Singapore complex from 3 September for a period of several weeks. “We started seeing mounting sales pressure in the import market. Most overseas sellers cuts import offers this week. Buying interest would fall further if the Chinese Yuan continue to depreciate,” a market source said.
