Chinese government lifted incentive for petchem exporters
The Chinese government has announced the plan to increase the VAT export tax rebate rate by for most petrochemical products bearing HS code 3901, 3902, 3903, 3904, 3905, 3906, 3907, 3908 and 3909 starting 15 September 2018.
This is one of the mini steps the government takes in combat the escalated trade tension with the USA, Chinese players said, however, the yield might not be as great as many hope to see. “We would like to see similar move on plastic end product that might boost demand better,” a source said.
The export tax rebate rates are lifted to 9 per cent from the previous 5 per cent and the following table detailed out products that benefit from the plan.
