Azerbaijan's SOCAR launched new PP plant

According to market sources, SOCAR Polymer, a petrochemicals division of Azerbaijan’s national oil company (NOC) SOCAR has started up its new PP plant production on 18 July 2018.

Based in Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP), which is located approximately 30km north of Baku, Azerbaijan, the project consists of 180,000 tons/year PP plant and 120,000 tons/year HDPE plant. The HDPE plant is expected to come on-stream by end of 2018.
