Taiwanese maker lifted PVC offers for August shipment

It is reported that a major Taiwanese producer has announced fresh PVC offers for August shipment to the region with $30/ton increased month on month, tracking the upstream ethylene and supply trail. The hike sends the latest prices list to $990/ton to India and at $960/ton to China and Southeast Asia, all based on CIF/CFR, LC AS term.

The increases pinch Indian players to a certain extent, who were calling for stable to softer levels considering the weaker demand condition during the monsoon season and the depreciation of the local currency against the US dollar.

“We are adopting a wait-and-see position for now. It is just too risky to accept the latest increases,” an Indian trader commented.
