Explosion killed 19 in Chinese chemical plants

An explosion occurred during the early hours on Friday, 13 July 2018 at Yibin Hengda Technology killed 19 people and injured dozen of others. Authorities are investigating into the cause of the explosion.

Yibin Hengda Technology is part of a larger pharmaceutical technology group – Shanghai Synfarm, which responsible for the research and application of the flow chemistry technology, the process development and production of API's intermediates and building blocks, amino acid derivatives and peptides, fluorine chemicals, new green solvent Cyclopentyl Methyl Ether (CPME).

The unfortunate incident does not pose any direct impact on the commodity plastics sector.
