Market sources reported that BASF is planning to build its $10 billion third largest highly integrated verbund chemical complex in China.

Based in Guangdong, China, the complex will be having a 1 million tons/year of steam cracker, whereby the first plant at the site will start up in 2026 and completion expected by 2030. The company’s first largest verbund complex located at Ludwigshafen and the second at Antwerp. Hence, upon the completion of the complex in China, it will be the first of the largest in Asia Pacific.
