Vietnam's Nghi Son start offering PP trial to the market

Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical has begun offering some quantity of polypropylene (PP) output from the newly start-up plant in central Vietnam, according to a sale notice on the company’s official website.

No specific price is set for the 217.5 tons of the trial quantity, instead, the producer is inviting for proposal. 

Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical is a joint venture between Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), Kuwait Petroleum Europe B.V. (KPE) from Kuwait, Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd and Mitsui Chemical, Inc. from Japan. The plant is able to process 200,000 barrels of crude oil per day, and produce 370,000 tons/year of PP, 680,000 tons/year of PX and 200,000 tons/year of benzene.

Market players are expecting more quantity from the producer in July.
