A major Thailand producer has reportedly announced fresh PE offers to China mostly at softer levels compared to last week. The downward adjustment for both LDPE and LLDPE cargoes is attributed to the recent softening trend in the local market, which castaway demand for import cargoes that priced at the higher end of the price range.  

The maker’s latest price list is shown in the following table:

Supply for HDPE remains pretty tight not only in China, but across the Asia region, and yet buyers simply refused to enter deals at prices above the $1400/ton threshold. “Our regular customers are not responding toward the latest offers and we fear that more discounts must be given in order to attract purchasing interest,” a distributor commented.

Several other Chinese sources have expressed the expectation for softer import offers in general now that the US dollar has appreciated against most other currencies.
