United States' Chevron reported flaring at Texas cracker

According to market sources, Chevron Phillips Chemical has reported flaring at its steam cracker last Saturday night due to shutdown of a cracked gas compressor which caused venting to the flare.
Basedin Baytown, Texas, United States, the Cedar Bayou complex is able to produce 2.335 million tons/year of ethylene. A source cloased to the company informed that an emissions event associated with the upset ended Sunday night after the company restarted the compressor unit. This incident has released 40,573 lbs of ethylene and smaller amounts of propylene, butadiene and benzene.
