Thai PE continue to move lower in China, buying sentiment remains weak

Chinese players resumed working from the long weekend holiday and receive fresh PE offers from a major Thailand producer at $5-10/ton lower from last week. Latest price list sees HDPE film at $1415/ton and LDPE film at $1240/ton, all based on CFR China, LC AS term. The maker did not open any offers for other PE grades such as LLDPE film and metallocene PE due to lack of availability.

Buyers have not responded positively to the latest price adjustment with a market source said, “The price cuts are mainly due to the stiff resistance throughout the past two weeks. More discount might become available on deals in the next trading days.”
