Explosion at China's Qinghai Heiner PVC plant

Market sources reported that Qinghai Salt Lake Heiner Chemical Co Ltd has experienced explosion on its carbide-based PVC plant last night, the causes could not be ascertained, however, the company is still under investigation for further details. Several injuries were heard, and no death found.

Based in Qinghai, China, the carbide-based PVC plant has a production capacity of 200,000 tons/year. It has been shut since 21 April for a planned maintenance, and restart schedule is still pending for further announcement.
