Emergency shutdown at Petronas's LLDPE line

Malaysia's Petronas was forced to undertake an emergency shutdown at its LLDPE line yesterday after encountered some technical glitches. The 220,000 tons/year swing HDPE/LLDPE line was under a scheduled maintenance shut down in May.

It is expected that the company might need up to a week to resolve the issue. Some buyers have received announcement from the producer that cargoes would only be available two week from now.
