China's Jinneng Science & Technology to build new PHD plant

China’s Jinneng Science & Technology Co Ltd has awarded a contract to Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CB&I) for the license and engineering design of a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China.

The unit with designated propylene output of 900,000 tons per annum will deploy CATOFIN technology. No further details regarding the construction and expected operation date were released, however, upon completion, will become the world’s largest single-train PDH unit.
