Thai maker maintains PE offers to China; reduction observed on Qatari LDPE film

Major Thailand producer reportedly announced weekly PE offers to China with little changes despite limited supply stemming from an on-going maintenance shutdown. Players blamed the declining buying appetite for import materials in the post-holiday for the price decision while limited deals are observed.

On the other hand, major Qatari maker cuts LDPE film prices by $20/ton week on week to $1220/ton CFR China, LC 60 days term and yet, buyers are not showing much intention to make replenishment. This is because supply for LDPE film in local China market is rather comfortable and traders here are even re-exporting to deplete inventories. “We are not having LLDPE film cargoes this time due to healthy sales result in the previous week. Demand is surprisingly soft though it is traditional high demand season from the agriculture film sector,” a source close to the producer said.
