Major Malaysian producer implemented price hike for PP, PE in domestic market

Malaysian buyers reported to have received fresh PP and PE offers for March 2018 delivery from a major local producer with MYR350/ton ($89/ton) increased for PP, MYR350-400/ton ($89-101/ton) for HDPE, and MYR100/ton ($25/ton) for LDPE as compared to last month.

A trader added, “Limited supply availability and low inventory pressures are supporting our supplier to hold firm stance on their offers, however, we are facing slow momentum of buying activities after back from Lunar New Year holidays, hence we are expecting for resistances from our customers toward the price hike.”
