According to market sources, CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company Limited (CSPC) has unexpectedly shut its styrene monomer (SM) plant since yesterday (28 December 2017) due to technical glitches.

Based in Guangdong, China, the SM plant has a production capacity of 700,000 tons/year. It is expected to remain off-stream until 15 January 2018. A source closed to the company informed that they have temporarily suspended their offers for SM these few days.
