Malaysian producer announced January PP, PE offers to Indonesia

It is reported that a major Malaysian producer has announced January shipment offers for both PP and PE to Indonesia at stable to firmer levels compared to last month. Significant hikes are observed in HDPE cargoes once again as supply for this grade persist tight across the region.

Buyers are relatively neutral towards the latest PE offers, especially PE cargoes given the drastic hike recorded in local ground earlier this week. However, several customers are reporting difficulties facing in negotiating for discount on PP cargoes. “We lose several export tender over the past months due to uncompetitive prices. Raw material costs are too high, while suppliers are not willing to offer discount. We decided to only source hand to mouth from local trader,” a buyer said.
