Inter Pipeline to build Canada's first PDH plant

Market sources reported that Inter Pipeline is planning to construct the first integrated propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit and PP plant in Canada in early 2018.
Based in Alberta, Canada, the construction of the Heartland Petrochemical Complex will be housing both PDH and PP plant with production capacity of 525,000 tons/year each, costs $3.5 billion. The propane feedstock for the PDH plant will be sourced from Inter Pipeline’s Redwater Olefinic Fractionator and few other third party fractionators in the regions. A source closed to the company informed that the completion is scheduled for late 2021, and it is expected to be one of the PP producers in North America with lowest cost.
