Another Saudi maker opens December PE offers to Vietnam

It is reported that another Saudi Arabia producer has announced December shipment offers for PE to Vietnam with $50/ton hike on HDPE film cargoes while slashing LLDPE film price by $40/ton month on month. The new offers have been long awaited and players immediately place bids today.

Latest price list stand at $1280/ton for HDPE film and $1180-1190/ton for LLDPE film, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term. A local trader said, “We are asking for another $20-30/ton discount on LLDPE film cargoes and currently waiting for the suppliers feedback. For HDPE film, the general accepted level is now at $1260-1270/ton. Despite the lack of availability, the suppliers might face stiff resistance if no discount are made available on deals.”

According to CommoPlast data, the HDPE/LLDPE film price gap based on the producer’s price list is currently standing at the highest level since beginning of 2014, at approximate $100/ton with HDPE film holds the premium. From December 2015 to October 2017, the producer’s HDPE film offers are always on the same par or lower than LLDPE film.
