UOP signs contracts with KIPIC for Kuwait's petrochemical project

According to market sources, Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Co (KIPIC) has signed technology contracts with UOP for petrochemical project.

Based in Al Zour, Kuwait, the Olefins 3 project include 620,000 bbl/day Al-Zour refinery, 650,000 tons/year propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit, 940,000 tons/year PP unit whereby some of the propylene will be sourcing from the refinery’s fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCC), with propylene production capacities of 280,000 tons/year. The Aromatics 2 project consists of 1.4 million tons/year of PX and 350,000 tons/year of benzene capacity.
