Thai PE offered stable to Vietnam, limited quantity available

It is reported that a major Thailand producer has announced fresh weekly offers for PE to Vietnam with $10/ton increased on LDPE film and non-film HDPE cargoes. The latest offers stand at $1200/ton for LLDPE film, $1220/ton for non-film HDPE and $1290/ton for LDPE film, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term. This week, the maker offers a small quantity for HDPE film at $1260/ton with the same term.

“Except for HDPE film, we are open to negotiation,” a distributor said. At the meantime, buyers are not showing strong urge to make purchases in spite of the firming upstream ethylene costs. “We hope that combined effect of strong energy values and increasing ethylene prices would boost buying sentiment. These cargoes are for end of December delivery and the quantity is very limited,” the distributor added.
