USA initiated antidumping investigation on import PET from various origins

In an official announcement on 17 October 2017, the Department of Commerce, USA said it has initiated an antidumping investigation on import Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) resin from Brazil, the Republic of Indonesia (Indonesia), the Republic of Korea (Korea), Pakistan, and Taiwan.

The investigation is a respond from the Department of Commerce to the joint petition filed by several domestic producers on 26 September 2017, alleging a dumping margins of in the range that shown in the following table:

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) planned to make preliminary injury determinations on or before 13 November 2017 and if there are any indications that import PET from Brazil, Indonesia, Korea, Pakistan, and Taiwan injures the domestic industry, the investigation would be continued. Otherwise, the investigation would be terminated immediately.
