Thai maker cuts PE prices to Vietnam

It is reported that a major Thailand producer has announced weekly PE offers to Vietnam with reduction. Latest LLDPE film and HDPE yarn prices fell $20/ton to $1200/ton and $1210/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term while LDPE film prices drop $10/ton to $1290/ton with the same term. The maker is not offering any HDPE film cargoes this week.

There are rumours that several deals for LLDPE and LDPE film are concluded at special prices of $1160/ton and $1250/ton respectively, CIF Vietnam, LC AS term, however, CommoPlast was not able to confirm these deals at the time this report is published. “Though we do expect a small discount on deals, we do not see any strong factor that pull prices down that quickly at the moment. The general sentiment is slow and we hope to see some spillover effect from strong demand in China,” a distributor said.
