Thailand PE stable to softer in Vietnam

It is reported that a major Thailand producer has announced new PE offers to Vietnam today with $10/ton reduction on LLDPE film cargoes while maintaing LDPE and HDPE film offer unchanged.

Latest price list stands at $1220/ton for LLDPE film, $1230/ton for HDPE film and $1300/ton for LDPE film, CIF Vietnam, LC AS term. Supply for HDPE film appears to be tighter than other grades, however buying interest is still weak.

A buyer received the offers said, “We think LLDPE film prices are dropping below the $1200/ton threshold, hence we prefer to wait and see for now. Local market is very weak and traders are offering discounts to close deals. We might source some quantity locally instead.”
