Southeast Asian major lifted PP, LDPE offers to Malaysia

It is reported that a major Southeast Asian producer has announced fresh offers for October shipment to Malaysia with $50/ton increased on both PP and LDPE cargoes. Availability is limited, yet buyers are taking extra cautious stance as prices has reached the highest levels this year.

Latest price list from the maker stand at $1230/ton for homo-PP, $1310/ton for PP block copolymer, $1360/ton for PP random copolymer, $1420/ton for LDPE film, 1480/ton for LDPE injection and $1490/ton for LDPE lamination, all based on DAP Malaysia, LC AS term.

There have been reports that the producer is limiting supply for LDPE grades to regular buyers by 20-30% ahead of the major maintenance shutdown scheduled during mid-2018. Several converters are seeking for alternative source of material, especially on LDPE lamination grade to maintain safe inventories levels.
