Import PVC from Thailand inched higher in Malaysia

A major Thailand producer has reportedly announced October shipment offers for PVC to Malaysia with $30-40/ton increased week on week, following the latest price hike pioneered by a major Taiwanese makers to India. Latest price list stands at $960-970/ton CIF Malaysia, LC AS term.

Buyers in this market show very limited respond towards the latest offers, especially those in the pipe and profile sector, and planned to wait for more offers from international producers before making decision. A market source said, “The compounding sector seems to have better businesses than pipe and profile. Chinese cargoes likely to remain tight and therefore buyers shall need to source material from other suppliers. We think acceptance would be better in the coming days.”
