Unexpected glitches at China's FREP PP, PE plants

According to market sources, Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited (FREP) has unexpectedly shut its No. 1 PP unit due to technical glitches today.

Based in Fujian, China, the No. 1 PP plant has a production capacity of 330,000 tons/year. The plant is expected to remain off-stream for 5 days. Meanwhile, its 220,000 tons/year No. 2 PP plant and both of its PE plants with combined production capacity of 900,000 tons/year are being forced to run at reduced rate at the moment.
